Fishing Christmas Tree Lake, Arizona
The drive to Christmas Tree Lake, on the Apache Reservation was not short or easy, but the fishing is the best in the state, if not in all of the South-West. All of the fish we caught were Apache Trout, the native species, and they are some of the hardest fighting trout on the planet.
This lake has little fishing pressure and is well worth the drive. When we weren't hauling in hard-fighting hawgs, we could sit back and watch a family of bald eagles circle overhead. A pristine and wonderful way to spend a Sunday.
