I went to the 'bug eating event' in Tokyo for documentary shoot. There were more than 30 people and they caught hundreds of grasshoppers, crickets and mantis to make them Tempura (battered deep fries) to enjoy them. I tried a really small grasshopper (tasted like a deep fried shrimp) and a really small grilled silkworm chrysalis (quite bitter for me).
