   Gotta admit, I'm a sucker for this kind of Americana. It's so great to see shots like this - they remind me that there was once a simpler time when Man was essentially free to act of his own free will, guided by his own intellect, rather than being corralled by legislation and the sheep-herding mentality of modern governments that presume they somehow know what's best for us and expect our gratitude for their imposed restrictions on our ability to think for ourselves. Dammit, I'll cross the damn tracks when I deem it safe, and I don't need your flashing lights and computer-controlled electronic barriers to tell me when to go!!!

   Fantastic shot, love it. And I agree with @buckshot, one of the things I love about India in particular is that natural selection still triumphs over health and safety. (i.e. you are free but stupidity will get you killed) :D
