My first forays into Lomography were filled with wonder as I looked at other peoples’ bright, colourful, wildly saturated shots and I soon learned that they were the result of cross processing colour slide films in C41 chemistry. I first tried with Fuji Velvia and really loved the bright colours I got.
I soon grabbed myself another 5 pack of Fuji slide film without realising I’d picked up Provia instead of Velvia. However I absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous bright tones of the cross processed Provia pics. It was my first choice of film when I went to the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia and the results definitely didn’t disappoint. This film also makes a fairly ordinary day in Wiltshire look bright and exciting.
The results always make me smile and somehow make my memories of the time that I took that photograph more vivid and fun!
