The Nikon F5

Here’s the much awaited decided sequel of the four way battle royale for the coveted award of “Best Camera From An In Law” So, LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!

Welcome back to the first (and probably last) four way camera Battle Royale for the coverted title of “Best Camera From An In law”

A different decade but another SLR, it’s big, it’s bold, it’s heavy it’s the Niiiiiiiiiikon F5 (Eye of the tiger blasts the ears of the audience in my mind)

So with 32 woops to beat, Hedi tell us about the aesthetics

Heidi: Gutentag! Every girl needs a little black dress and the F5 is dressed up and ready. It is really a trend setter in its exterior fashion and is as relevant today as it ever was, 9/10 woops. Aufwidersehn.

Thank you Heidi. Woody, how does this baby handle?

Woody: it’s not a simple camera, it’s not an easy camera, not easy not easy at all. Its not that the auto focus is slow but it makes driving miss daisy look like a police chase, yeah yeah. I like buttons, buttons are good, they can fasten shirts or un fasten shirts, but like all Nikons the F5 has more buttons than it really needs and feels more complicated than hunting, blindfolded for a needle in bathtub of sea urchins. This is not a camera to slip in your pocket, unless your pockets are large. But it is meant to be a camera for big shoots, so as for the woops 7/10

Ok, thanks Woody for that strange analogy ridden result. And now please be upstanding for Queeny Lizzy Twoy

The Queen: One would expect from a Nikon, quality in its images. And, unsurprisingly the results were superb. 10/10

Thank you your majesty, and finally Matt

Matt: I am a little bit of a canon fan, not through any form of snobbery but purely because that is what I am used to. But I love the fact that this camera is now part of my little analogue family. It is, simply awesome. It could potentially be a little complicated, but if you KIS (keep it simple) then possibly one of the best cameras I have ever shot. 10/10

Thanks judges and the final scores are in for the Nikon F5 scoring a massive 36, meaning our first semi finalist, in our first competition is… The Nikon F5.

Thanks for joining us, and we’ll see you some time, next time
(sadly due to technical complications with the remaining cameras the show is on hold)

Ha, OMG you got an F5 from an In-law. I was given an F6; I don't think they had any idea what they gave up. Getting the F6 fueled me up to shoot film.
