Bringing Dalai Lama back toTibet

Ever since the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India in the 50s, The Communist Chinese government has tried to erase any trace of him in Tibet. Troops went into each house to rid of all images and records of His Holiness.

There's absolutely no freedom of speech or association in Tibet, so much so that ordinary Tibetan citizens can only discuss Dalai Lama in private behind closed doors.

Since all images of Dalai have been banned, tourists can get into trouble for smuggling His pictures into Tibet, I decided to do a defiant double exposure, one shot of Dalai Lama before going into Tibet, and a second exposure in Lhasa in front of His Palace.

I don't know too much about the politics of China and Tibet and I'm not religious at all. But I know enough that it is a human right to believe in whatever we choose to.

@hervinsyah Naa, I wish lol We spent a morning visiting his Palace, although they didn't allow any photography inside. It's basically a just ghostly museum, now that everything associated with Dalai Lama has been removed.

It's so sad what Chinese government did to Tibet after they screaming about Japanese collonialism in China long time ago. Just like Israel who filming lot of Hollocaust meanwhile they did worst at Palestina. I don't know why almost all government in this world all sucks =D

Very true hervinsyah. What is happening in Tibet in terrible. I've seen videos of Tibetan monks setting themselves on fire in protest at what is happening in Tibet. The images will always haunt me. Having said that -

(whoops!) Having said that - China has every right to scream about the Japanese invasion. What the Japanese did in Nanking was horrific - made the Nazi's look like angels. I have lots of Japanese friends and they don't now a thing about the Japanese invasion of China! This should be taught in all Japanese schools. In this country we are taught that the Crusades were heroic, led by Richard The Lionheart. They don't tell us about the atrocities they commited againt the Jews, Muslims and any other non-christian. Don't get me started on Israel/Palestine! In a nut shell - Israel is doing nothing wrong. Why? Because they are a mostly white nation, and the memories of the holocaust are still fresh in eveyones minds. It's true what they say - someone who is bullied becomes the bully. Thousands of years of oppression does not give Judaism/Israel the right to destroy an entire country. I call it victim mentality. Is there any difference between the Warsaw ghettos and Jenin? I think not! Glad I got that off my mind!

    Great photo by-the-way ihave2pillows!

@hervinsyah @weleasewoger72 Thanks for the comments :) You are both correct, all too often this world forgets its hard-learned lessons. Taking Lomo Rule#3 to heart, I hope we can all explore the potentials of our lomography not just for happy times and escapism, but also to address more serious areas of our lives. I believe in peace and I believe that we can change the world, one picture at a time!

@weleasewoger72 : My point is if Chinese & Israel government scream about their painful past, why they do the same thing to other? I'm not talking about religion, don't you saw the news when Israel attack Mavi Marmara ship in free teritory sea when hundred of volunteer want to help Gaza people who suffer from Israel's attack? And where is the hottest fresh Nobel Prize winner award at that time hiding (Barack Obama)? And should I mention million of another Israel's violation?

@weleasewoger72 : Haha, of course we're still friend. I don't wanna make lomo foe because I hate war & I love peace. And I'm sorry if there's any of my word that hurting someone. Deep inside my heart I don't wanna hurt anybody, just upset with Israel, Chinese, USA, and also my country government who didn't belong to the world peace =D

@weleasewoger72 @hervinsyah Dialogue is great! There's so much injustice in this world. If anything, it's good to see that we still care. All of us have issues closer to our hearts, no need to apologize for speaking out really. Perhaps we can channel our convictions into pictures, and generate a new breed of lomography :-)

By the way I didn't know anything about Dalai Lama & Brad Pitt until I watch one of Brad Pitt's movie (damn I forget the title =). It's about Germany adventurer who become Dalai Lama's friend. But at the story Dalai Lama was a young boy with wise man attitude =D I actually didn't like Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise personally because they're everywhere, until I watch Brad Pitt's movie. And my opinion about him was change. I watch Mission Impossible & Eyes Wide Shut, but it not change my dislike of Tom Cruise ^_^

@hervinsyah You mean "Seven Years in Tibet" :-) I did watch it before I went over there, hehe. Hate Tom Cruise...

Tom cruise sucks! But fair play to him for playing that character in Tropic Thunder! Brad Pitt is in Fight Club, Twelve Monkeys, Snatch and Seven - how could we not like him?

This is a great game! How to get from the injustice of Tibet to Tom Cruise in 12 steps!

Haha, that's typical me, because I like to mumbling anything =D Yes, my first introduction of Tibet is by Seven Years In Tibet. If it's the true story, I think Dalai Lama is Mahatma Gandhi who fight without violence (gun, bomb or anything can harm/kill) ahahaha, I'm dizzy right now, I'm too serious. See you later all (in another more relaxing photo =)

"Typical me" refers to : talk from one subject and suddenly jump or try to related with other subject =D

@hervinsyah @weleasewoger72 I just thought of a "Double for peace" Rumble? Encouraging ordinary people to collaborate across party line, enemy line and transcend regional conflicts and politics. That'd be wicked :)
