Chasing Hydro Bears (Svalbard #17)

life in a polar station is regulated by work. Their are busy days and lazy days, mostly due to the weatherconditions. On one day tension was up, because besides the daily meteo sonde and a ozon sonde there was also a CFH Sonde send up a balloon into the sky. CFH stands for Cyrogenic Frostpoint Hygrometer, it detecs the moisture in the stratosphere. This sucker is used only every three months, so if the wind is too strong this means trouble. vimeo.com/149264575 And at least there was light inside thescience hut. Shooting outside in darkness forces you to use ultralong exposure, up to 5 minutes or to use a flash, which only works for a few meters. But I tried it anyway...
