Lomographic Milestones: It All Started 17 Years Ago
written by bloomchen on 2013-12-23We've had 20 years of Lomography, and I've been a part of the movement for almost 17 years. But, I said "almost" because I had long breaks in between. Anyway, I think it's time to look back at those old pictures from the beginning. I have to admit I never made an effort to scan all my old pictures, but there are still a few of them. I think it's worth it to have a look at them.

I Love Watching People Doing Their Work
written by bloomchen on 2012-02-07I claim: you can´t get more authenticity than with people at work! I guess a lot of poeple can´t think of stepping into a store, bakery, coiffeur or whatever, take out their camera and ask if they can take a few pictures. But you being an (silent) observer ensures you getting authenticity and you decide the moment which is worth being captured - not the right facial expression you need to quick pull the trigger.

Bedroom Club
written by neja on 2011-03-26 #placesPart bar, part club, the Bedroom Bar is one of Shoreditch's best-kept secrets. A wonderful loft space with a big dance floor, smoking terrace, and chill out room. True to its name, it does in fact have a bed tucked away in the top-left hand corner.

Bar Hopping in Downtown Portland
written by strangelilgirl on 2009-08-16 #placesFor my boyfriend’s 21st birthday, we wanted our first bar experience to be in one of our favorite places: downtown Portland! I’m 22, but have been anxiously waiting for the chance to go out with him, so we celebrated the night as if we were both turning 21!

Le Saut du Loup restaurant, Paris
written by neja on 2011-12-21 #placesOne of the most spectacularly located restaurants in the entire world. It was our last few hours in Paris, and we were desperate to dine somewhere around the Louvre. But it had to be a place which served Pomerol wine, there were no doubts about that. I didn't know why, but my partners did insist on that.

Wepler Restaurant, Paris
written by neja on 2011-12-19 #placesGreat wines and oysters in the darkest part of Paris. We were recommended to go to Wepler by some Parisian gallerist that I know. She assured me it was the best place for fish. Queues at the door upon our arrival suggested a gem, and that couldn't have been farther from the truth.

Boots & Flogger Wine Bar
written by neja on 2011-03-21 #placesNot a Sado Maso experience, but fine wining and dining. Boots & Flogger is a place of tradition. Some waitresses have worked here for 35 years already. I once came here when one of them was retiring. She showed me pictures from the old days when she was still young and just started working here. They were two friends and another lady was still going to continue. I wonder, how many bottles of wine they had together during those years.

La Mamounia - Oasis of Beauty
written by neja on 2011-03-02 #placesLa Mamounia - the eye candy of Marrakech. After a day spent wandering around dusty Medina and souqs, it was still too early to return to our hotel so I suggested we check out the only Art Deco building in town - Hotel La Mamounia. I am a big fan of Art Deco style in architecture, so for me it was a must.

Wright Brothers Soho
written by neja on 2011-03-24 #placesOysters today, oysters everyday! Do you like oysters as much as I do? Good news! No need to go to Whitstable or Scotland, the only way is Soho! I used to go to Wright Brothers Oyster Bar at Borough Market from time to time, but I didn't know they had a spot in Soho as well, until my gourmet friend took me there to have a quick oyster+Guiness anti-hangover fix.Yummy!
