I already had a couple Praktiflexes - they are among the earliest SLR cameras for 35mm film (preceded only by Kine Exacta and Sport - but being more praktical than these) - but both items I had were of the "2nd version" with button at front and sticky mirror (so you can't see anything when shutter is not wound). Interesting that earlier version (before 1947) was made with self-falling mirror - and here I bought it (for about $40) at last. It is in working condition, I'll show pictures from it later. It operates curiously - as you start pressing the button, mirror starts moving up, it is directly linked to this button obviously - so it comparatively slowly raises as you push - and when it reaches top - shutter is released. When button is released, it is brought back down by weak spring. Probably this was seen upon as inconvenience by camera designers, so the second version (which later transferred to early prakticas) was made. Shot with 5mm macro-ring. f/16 about 1sec.
found this finished film in a box in my attic....I only recently developed it and scanned the negatives. This film should be around at least 7 years old. This film spent the whole time in the warm attic and after developing the pictures i saw the quality of the photos was really bad and how distorted the colors looked. Even after digitizing the quality of the pictures was not really better. But hey i like it ^^
