LomoGuru of the Week: Ululchen

For her, to go out and roam around whilst snapping those various sights and sounds with a camera in hand is something of a necessity that she should make sure she has time for. And as to what camera(s) to bring specifically with her out there is another story!

Share to us your most memorable experience in the Lomographic Community.

I remember how excited I was when I came home one evening to find out that I was chosen for LomoHome of the day. More generally, I just love how people here are open to share their experiences in the Magazine and in their LomoHomes.

Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.

Unfortunately, I have not met anyone from the Community in real life yet but I am planning to go on a trip around the world this year and I hope that I can meet up with some Lomographers on the way! Besides, a good friend of mine, irenestuecheli (I’m sure she would appreciate some Lomo love ;-) ) has joined the Community some months ago and she is now already the proud owner of three Lomography cameras.

Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?

Certainly! Simply because it is the thing I love doing most during my free time and if I cannot go on a Lomowalk once in a while I start getting a little annoyed.

What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences while using this camera?

If I can choose only one, I have to say the LC-A+. I only got it 10 months ago but since then I am shooting one roll after the other. I even got a vintage LC-A in the meantime, which I mostly use for doubles and triples. So you can often see me out using both cameras at the same time. Then again, I also love shooting in medium format, so I might also be carrying my Diana F+ or my Holga 120 GN around. You see, it’s really not fair to pick only one!

Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?

Most importantly, enjoy what you’re doing! Lomography is about having fun. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes! Making mistakes is the best way to learn something. And if you feel uninspired, go traveling! You don’t necessarily have to go to another country, there are so many places to explore in the vicinity that you might not even have noticed before.
