Lomographers dream at the festival where kids and adults climb trees, practice circus skills, make rock sculptures, sit in the heat and listen, watch, laugh at every variety of music, comedy, circus, art, and performance known to man. I had a ball at the southern hemispheres largest music festival!

I am really not very happy with the BelAir camera and am kinda regretting that I bought it. Not only did the physical camera fall apart on me a few hours after I took it out of the box but the lenses are also not very good. I like the idea of it's format flexibility, though, and I might buy some of the glass lenses... maybe I can get better results then...

I am back and have decided to give Lomography another go. I was bored one night and itching to shoot. My boyfriend's apartment looks so much like a set from one of David Lynch's movies, courtesy of his roommate, so I decided to do a David Lynch- inspired photo shoot. I wrote about the photo shoot on my blog too! Check it out >>> http://talesbehindportraits.com/2012/06/12/delving-into-disturbia/.

  • Conceptual shoot using string lights, a large…

    shared by blueskyandhardrock on 2012-08-05

I wanted to do something with string lights but I wanted to use it in a dark comedic way. It took me a while to find the lights, apparently they are not so readily available if it's not Christmas! Thankfully, Target saved the day. Here are the results of that shoot. As usual, I home developed and scanned the negatives myself. You can also see these on my blog: http://talesbehindportraits.com/2012/07/11/the-hostage/.

I don't even know what happened. Was it the combination of the film's neutral colors and the soft light from the sun's setting that made the photos have that green hue? I can't figure it out. Either way, I'm happy with them, especially because my face isn't showing. I did this shoot a while back.

Expose lower half first, and set a tripod upside down and expose upper half in the same way as 1st shot. To turn tripod 180 degrees, I used two panheads. About 10 seconds each. Using a cable release and black adhesive tape (to mask the light sensor of LC-A+). Vivid blue or purple colours are by trucks decorated with light bulbs. Needed patience and concentration...
