At The Ex
shared by deepfried_goodness on 2014-02-15For the past 6 years, my family and I have gone to the Ex. And even though I've not been in school since the 90s, it's still a bittersweet outing because it means summer is over and it's time to go back to school.

warriors of an indian summer...
shared by jimjimm on 2014-02-17...from India...among all the local festivals in Goa and the rest of the Konkan region…Shigmo would be the most popular and colorful..!!.. ..celebrating the arrival of the indian summer and the start for preparations of fields to be in readiness for the indian monsoons..Shigmo has ancient pagan origins and involve these colorful..larger than life effigies..that commemorate the Ranes..native Maratha warriors rising against the Portuguese colonizers who ruled over this part of India from 1510 to 1961… Stories of these Maratha warriors battling for justice and independence are legendary and even today, they inspire all of us, to rise up against oppression and injustice…………….... Please note that the Swastika that you see in some of the pics is NOT from that notorious period in World history..but this one..in its vertical position, is an ancient hindu symbol dating back to the indus valley civilizations and it invokes Lakshmi…who is the Hindu Goddess for Wealth…Prosperity…Good tidings and Auspiciousness

shared by hodachrome on 2014-01-26From EBS (exposing both sides of the film). Shot on negative side first (upper half) on a fine day. After finished a roll I reversed the film and set it the camera again. Then went to the same place and stood at exactly the same point as 1st shot, and shot lower half just as the same way as 1st, on a bit overcast day. ISO400 for negative, 200 for redscale. With using the splitzer. Have a look at my article about this technique: http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/01/14/tipster-how-to-take-symmetrical-images-with-exposing-both-sides-of-the-film-ebs

shared by lakandula on 2012-07-19Released in November 2010 from her house arrest since 1989, Aung San Suu Kyi - Burma's frontline opposition politician and chairperson of National League for Democracy - has joined the ranks of the world's prominent ex-political prisoners. She was awarded in 1991 the Nobel Peace Prize which she just officially received by way of her acceptance speech at Oslo's City Hall last June 16, 2012. Her freedom has become a political sign that the military junta governing Myanmar is opening rooms for much needed political reforms. Two months ago, she was elected to the lower house of the Burmese parliament with her party winning 43 of the 45 vacant seats. This is my personal tribute to what Burmese activists for independence called The Lady. She is truly an inspiration not just to fellow activists in Burma but to activists worldwide. Created these quadruple analogue shots fusing four images using my Canon A1. Experimental shots like these rarely get to be popular but I'm sharing them in the hope that others may find inspiration too from The Lady the way I did. We are all citizens of the world. What happens in one part of the globe affects the rest.
