I am so used to slide-film nowadays that I am always surprised about the look of a print-film. The Agfa Vista 400 ISO is my prime choice, if I don’t have any slide handy. And this is due to various reasons. The colour saturation is quite intense. It is very grainy, which actually gives it sometimes some sort of vintage x-pro effect. Actually it looks very distinct to all the other films I use, especially if compared to slide film. Skin tones are very warm and smooth.

Still I have the feeling, that it is rather a film for short proximations like the Fisheye or the LC-A+, For the long negatives of a Horizon I thought it might be lacking a little bit in contrast. As long as you know these, you will be sure you can use it right.

On the other hand you will sometimes get a good bargain on them, buying them in the Lomostore or in large amounts in other sources. Though the big question remains, how long will they be around with Agfa stopping the production? So if you are very fond of the look of this film gives, you should really get going and buy them in vast amounts and pile them up in your fridge.
