The Non-Lomographic Use of My Lomo LC-A

6

The last of the Ten Golden Rules of the Lomography says: “Don’t worry about any rules.” So, I use my old Lomo LC-A, which I owned from the beginning of the 90s, in a traditional way, not the “lomographic” way. Always think about the composition before taking a picture!

As you can see in this review and also in my albums, I care a lot about the composition, and I use the features of the camera to exalt the characteristics of the photographic subject. The vignetting effect allows me to guide the eyes of the observer toward the center of the photo; the moderate wide angle allows me to obtain interesting perspectives and a good deep of field. I always take my LC-A camera with me, expecially during my vacations and trips. The LC-A is great for carrying in my bags that I hang on my bike during my bicycle tours across the Europe (although once I had to tighten some small screws that were loosened by the vibrations). So, this camera is a faithful companion for my adventures.

I recommend for everyone to try it in a non-lomographic way—that is, with fresh film rolls, no cross processing, setting the ISO for correct exposure (the ISO selector can be used to overexpose or underexpose the subject if needed), and to think before taking a photo. In this case, you will still have stunning results!

The Lomo LC-A is the camera that started the Lomography movement. With full controls and wide ISO range, this automatic gem is perfect for beginners and professionals alike. Get your own Refurbished LC-A in our Shop!
