My Lubitel 2 and its Flying Mirror

5

When you buy things (especially cameras) from auctions online, it’s always a risk, because you never know if the product really works. Here is what happened to me and how I managed to resolve the problem.

Sometimes, there are some auctions online that are simply irresistible! You look at the picture of the object you desire, place a bid, and hope to win the camera of your dreams. This is exactly what happened to me.

After few days, a beautiful Lubitel 2 knocked at our door! To be honest, this was a gift for azotolina since she loves this camera.

While I was opening the package, a sinister noise shook me:

Oops! The mirror inside was detached!

The green light was cast by the lamp

Okay, don’t panic! Let’s start to understand how to remedy it. This was my first time trying to dismount a Lubitel.

There are 3 screws, and well, unscrew them!

This way you will arrive where the mirror was supposed to be.

And this is what you will find.

Now, just let’s clean everythig (why not?)

What I did next was to put a tape behind the mirror and reposition it in its place.

Close the camera.

Oh, much better now! This was the reason why I wasn’t able to focus!

    Hello!
Im guessing you attached it with 2 sided tape?
Won't the mirror sit higher now, and leave your focus off?
