Minolta SR-T 102

11

I present you my antique treasure. The Minolta SR-T 102 was active in production between 1973 to 1975, for which it's safe to say that this camera is almost 40 years old. It was also known as the 'SR-T Super" in Asia and the Pacific, or the 'SR-T 303' in Europe. And the best part is that you can find one on eBay for less than $50.

Mine came with a 50 mm MC Rokkor - X lens, which as an aperture of 1:1.4. The camera's aperture opens from f/16 to f/1.4, which provides a great diversity in depth of field and beautiful contrast for portrait shots. The shutter speed ranges from 1s to 1/1000s, including 'Bulb' mode, with a cable release and tripod threads. It also synchronizes the electronic flash with the shutter speed from 1s to 1/60s.

Now, here comes my favorite part. You can set the ISO for films from 6 to 6400, so you pretty much can use it with ANY film on earth. This is also perfect for getting that vintage look with redscale film. It has a light meter which functions with a needle that you can see through the viewfinder and adjust the shutter speed and aperture (which you can also see through the viewfinder) to match the needles and get the perfect exposure. It also features a self-timer for those self-portrait addicts! ^_^

As if that wasn't enough, this camera can also achieve multiple exposures with the simplest trick. By pressing the release button for rewinding the film, you can move the advance lever and re-activate the shutter without actually advancing the film, allowing you to shoot as many exposures as you want in the same place!

The first "real" camera I ever used was a Minolta X-370 that my parents bought. I wish they'd let me have it! Minolta cameras and lenses rock!

I got lucky when my mom all of the sudden started talking about this nice old camera she had and would let me use it. It turned out to be this amazing Minolta, so now it's basically mine :) I'm still a little mad she hadn't told me about it until now, but oh well! I have it now!

@reneg88 This is great! I just bought a Minolta SRT 200 (european version of 100x) and it works great! I wonder if it also allows multiple exposures as your 102!
