Plaza Miranda and the Quiapo Church in Black and…
shared by sid_rock on 2011-06-01I had a photowalk in the "Old Downtown" known for where cheap buys or goods are being sold at rock-bottom prices, particularly in Hidalgo and Raon streets, and was the home of the Black Nazarene - Quiapo.

Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz and the Binondo Church
shared by sid_rock on 2011-05-27I've always wanted to capture street scenes in the oldest Chinatown in the world! Of course, as always, with sprocket holes!

shared by lakandula on 2011-05-1615 May 2011 Went yesterday to Lucban with my friend Eyna to experience another exciting Pahiyas - the local celebration of the year's bountiful harvest in honor of the patron saint San Isidro Labrador. As what I have witnessed the past two years, there was a parade in the afternoon that featured folks dressed in colorful traditional attires. As May is the merry month of Santacruzan (the religious procession reenacting Queen Helena's search for the Holy Cross), local sagalas (queens) and consortes (escorts) were dressed in spectacular ternos (traditional gowns) and barongs (men's suits) using indigenous materials. Indeed, the whole parade was a celebration of Filipino ingenuity and creativity!

shared by lakandula on 2011-05-1127 April 2011 Near the Petrobras building at the city center stood the Rio de Janeiro Cathedral (Portuguese: Catedral Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro or Catedral de São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro). The church dedicated to the patron saint San Sebastian is the seat of the archbishop of Rio. The cone-shaped architecture has 315 feet internal diameter, an overall height of 246 feet and a standing-room capacity of 20,000 people. The colorful stained glass ceiling is a marvel to see when inside on a bright sunny day.
