2 9 Share TweetHere’s the third episode of Lomography’s adventure in Kamchatka with the Nixon Surf Challenge team. This time, we present you with the homecoming of Lomography’s Russians, a camera, and a lens, on Russian soil.
On June 19th, the Lomo LC-A celebrated its 30th birthday. Many things have happenned since the camera’s discovery 30 years ago by a group of austrian students. The LC-A and its little brother the LC-A+ have already been all around the world. In June 2014, the russian pionneer of Lomography, tried out something new … Ah, Surfing ! Along with team Nixon and Lomography’s latest novelty, the Petzval Lomography x Zenit Art Lens , the LC-A celebrates its third decade at home, in Russia.
Hand in hand, the Lomo LC-A and the Petzval Art Lens traveled with Nixon’s surfers and photographers for the 6th edition of the Nixon Surf Challenge by the snow-capped volcanoes of Kamchatka.
The LC-A takes you behind the scenes of the most original and most unique surfing challenge in the world to discover the extremely cold ocean and some frozen but happy riders ! Wax your boards, the mission is gonna be tough!
But the LC-A + did not only capture the cold beaches of Kamchatka, it also did not let go of the Nixon team and followed the riders all around even during their well earned moments of rest. You can tell it was a little chilly up there, can’t you?
