Please tell us something about yourself.

I am 24 years old and I am studying film at Dongguk University in Seoul. I already directed three dramatic movies and a documentary, but these are just short ones.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

Actually, my first camera is the Lomo LC-A. I bought it about ten years ago when I was still a middle school student. I still use the same camera now. A month ago, I stumbled upon the Lomography website becase I want to buy a Lomo LC-Wide. I was really surprised because this is really an amazing community. In this digital age, there are still many who enjoy taking photos on film and sharing them. Every picture is really gorgeous.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

I try to follow the first rule. I try to take my camera everywhere I go. I see many attractive things everywhere that I can take photos of. With a camera, I can see the things with a different view. Moreover, it makes me see the strange and unfamiliar even on ordinary things.

In this digital age, why still film?

I think many people share the same reason. In this digital age, everything happens so fast: taking photos, cooking food, and even falling in love. I really appreciate the moment I spent waiting for the film rolls to turn into photographs.

Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?

My favorite is Lomo LC-A and it will always be. As I said, it was my first camera. You’ll never know what the actual photos would look like so my heart always go pit-a-pat when waiting for them.

What is the Lomography camera you’d want to have someday?

I am looking forward to owning a Lomo LC-Wide. I want to capture my daily life in wide-angle lomographs.

Any song or movie you live by?

I like the movie “Annie Hall” directed by Woody Allen. Like other movies by Woody Allen, it is really humorous and lovely. People in this movie feel incomplete so they are sometimes selfish. This immaturity they show makes me love everyone I know.

Share your current favorite Lomograph. Why is this your favorite?

Credits: undiscovered

I like this lomograph by undiscovered. This photo gives me happiness. Also, I have a two year old nephew. He is really active so it is a little bit hard to take photographs of him. This photo perfectly captured the moment of this little boy.

Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?

I like the work of frenchyfyl. Most of his photos, I guess, are of his family. I can feel his love and affection for these people through his eyes. His photos make me warm-hearted.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

To be inspired by other lomographers. Their works make me more energetic and productive. As a photographer who uses film, I am very surprised and moved their works. And I always see pictures that I cannot help but like!
