LomoMission: Better Together Winners
17 27 Share TweetFilm swaps often produce the most exciting photographs. More than physically exchanging rolls, it is a collaboration of ideas and stories between two people who share the same love for experimental photography.
For this LomoMission, we asked the community to submit photos from film swap projects with fellow Lomographers. To determine the winners, we invited LomoGuru and film swap enthusiast Roberto Fiuza to be our guest judge. Here’s what he has to say about the entries:
Double exposure photography is one of my favorite things to do on film. You can plan all you want but the result is always unpredictable. But a film swap is even more unpredictable. A good result is sometimes made of 10% inspiration and 90% luck!
Being asked to be a part of a film swap is a great honor. Inviting someone to be your partner is one of the best ways to tell them that you love their work. When both parties worked hard on their exposures great results can be achieved, like the ones I had the privilege to judge in this competition. Let’s hope this LomoMission will inspire more film swap projects!
Grand Prize Winner
Roberto says: This is a very nice portrait by @sobetion, which @bloomchen complements with cool texture.
Congratulations bloomchen! Enjoy creating more wonderful photographs with your new Lomo’Instant Wide Black + Lenses. Your film swap partner, @sobetion, will receive 15 piggies.
Runners-up
Roberto says: I love how the two exposures mixed together. The face of the woman is overlapped with a red blanket so you can’t see it. But if you look closely, the face of the other subject is visible on the woman’s hand. Super cool!
Roberto says: When you combine the minds of two of the best Lomographers around, you can only expect gold. And you have that in this photograph.
Roberto says: I love how her hair got replaced with leaves.
Roberto says: It looks like a ghost hiding behind the trees.
Roberto says: The man seems to be kissing a dog. It’s really a funny coincidence.
The runners-up and their film swap partners will take home 15 piggies each.
Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who participated! Also, thank you LomoGuru Roberto Fiuza for being our guest judge! Celebrate the surprises that come with film photography and stand a chance of taking home a hefty film stash.
